Rice United Way Campaign three-quarters of way to goal

At the end of the third week of the Rice United Way Campaign, pledges and contributions are at $189,441 — more than three-quarters of the way to Rice’s $250,000 goal.

All of the matching-gift funds from the offer by Rice Board of Trustees Chairman Bobby Tudor ’82 and his wife, Phoebe, have been claimed, which represents $25,000 in new and increased contributions over last year.

Three campus divisions have hit 100 percent participation: the Dean of Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies, Investments and Public Affairs. Housing and Dining has the most overall donors — 46. The School of Humanities leads the campus in total dollars contributed, $18,125.

Pledges may be made by automatic payroll deduction, spread over all of 2017’s paychecks, via Esther. To give by check or credit card, or to designate any pledge — including a payroll pledge — to the benefit of a specific United Way agency, geographic area or community program or priority, campus donors may use the pledge form available on the Rice United Way Campaign website, unitedway.rice.edu.
