Rice is 87th in new Times Higher Education World University Rankings

Rice and the University of Texas at Austin, which is No. 50, are the only Texas universities in the top 100, which includes 41 U.S. universities. The University of Oxford’s No. 1 ranking marks the first time that a U.S. school has not occupied the top spot in the 13-year history of the rankings.

THE World University Rankings are based on evaluation of a university’s teaching, research, knowledge transfer and international outlook, including such performance indicators as academic reputation survey, staff-to-student ratio, research grants, number of papers published in academic journals per scholar, number of research citations, international-to-domestic-student ratio and amount of research income earned from businesses and industry.

The complete list of THE world universities is available here.

Earlier this month Rice was ranked No. 72 in the 2016 Academic Ranking of World Universities published by ShanghaiRanking Consultancy.
