Rice Center for Engineering Leadership Executive Director Kaz Karwowski delivered a keynote address at the International Entrepreneurship Educators Conference at Liverpool John Moores University in England Sept. 8.

The 20-year collaboration between the Rice Building Workshop and Project Row Houses is one of 60 featured in the exhibit “By the People: Designing a Better America” at the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum, New York City. The exhibit will be open Sept. 29 to Feb. 26. Workshop director Danny Samuels and Associate Director Nonya Grenader, both professors in the practice at the Rice School of Architecture, will attend the press preview and opening.

Rice School of Architecture Dean Sarah Whiting and Professor in the Practice of Architecture Nonya Grenader are serving as judges for the American Institute of Architects Corpus Christi’annual design awards. Winners will be announced Oct. 11.

Stephen Zeff, the Keith Anderson Professor in Business at Rice’s Jones Graduate School of Business, will serve as the Don Trow Visiting Fellow at Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand from Sept. 24 to Oct. 23. While there, he will give a seminar to the university’s accounting faculty and a public lecture and meet with faculty and doctoral students. In addition, Zeff will make a four-day trip to Brisbane, Australia, where he was invited to speak at Griffith University and Queensland University of Technology. He will also hold three Tony Dale Lectures hosted by New Zealand’s External Reporting Board, which monitors the setting of accounting standards in the country, in Dunedin, Wellington and Auckland.
