Humans and animals merge in the Provost’s Office Student Art Gallery

New drawings, paintings and photos in the Provost’s Office Student Art Gallery were featured during an April 4 reception on the fourth floor of Allen Center. Pictured: Morgan Upchurch, a Baker College junior majoring in French studies and visual and dramatic arts, explains her set of four archival pigment prints made from digital photographs to Provost Marie Lynn Miranda. “The people featured in the photos are some of my very closest friends,” Upchurch wrote for the display. “The digitally illustrated animals accompanying them are the animals I’ve chosen for them. I aimed to match the people in my life with the animals I feel they would be, if they were not human.” (Photo by Tommy LaVergne)
