A ‘soccer ball tree’

Rice arborist Rafael Rojas came to the rescue when two soccer balls got stuck in a tree by Tudor Fieldhouse last week. A boy playing soccer accidentally kicked a ball into the tree and then tried to knock it down with a second ball, which also became lodged among the branches. Rojas used a pole saw to reach into the tree and free the balls. He was rewarded with a big smile from the boy’s grateful mother. (Photo by Brandon Martin)
