President David Leebron is one of four presidents of private universities in Texas who will appear on a panel at the Texas Tribune Festival in Austin Oct. 17 to discuss “What the Publics Can Learn from the Privates.” The panel discussion begins at 11:10 a.m. in the Student Activity Center Auditorium at the University of Texas at Austin. Vivian Ho also will be speaking at 11:10 a.m. at the health care session titled “After King v. Burwell, Now What?” in UT’s Welch Hall, Room 2.224. Ho is the chair in health economics at Rice’s Baker Institute for Public Policy and director of the institute’s Center for Health and Biosciences, a professor of economics at Rice and a professor of medicine at Baylor College of Medicine.

Tamara Siler ’87, senior associate director for admission and minority recruitment coordinator, has been elected to the National Association for College Admission Counseling (NACAC) Board of Directors for a three-year term. The NACAC is composed of 15,000 professionals from around the world dedicated to serving students as they make choices about pursuing postsecondary education.
