Invention ambassadors urge others to put great ideas into action
Rebecca Richards-Kortum, the Malcolm Gillis University Professor, director of the Institute of Biosciences and Bioengineering and of Rice 360°: Institute for Global Health Technologies, was announced as a 2015-2016 AAAS-Lemelson Invention Ambassador. She is quoted about her Rice research team’s development of a bubble CPAP machine, which is now used in Malawi health facilities.

Rick Perry on the Fox News debate bubble
Mark Jones, the Joseph D. Jamail Chair in Latin American Studies, professor of political science and fellow in political science at Rice’s Baker Institute for Public Policy, authored a blog post about the upcoming Republican presidential debate for the 2016 election season, which will be held on Fox News Aug. 6. He also comments on the inclusion of the Houston Equal Rights Ordinance in the mayoral race and the health of Venezuela’s democracy, and is cited for his ranking of the members of the Texas Senate.
