Creativity finds inspiration on campus

For more than 20 years, the Glasscock School of Continuing Studies’ School Literacy and Culture Program has teamed with Writers in the Schools, a local nonprofit that engages children in the joy and power of reading and writing, to present the summer Creative Writing Camp. The camp’s goal is to provide a supportive learning environment for children to engage in writing stories, poetry, essays and plays, as well as simply writing for pleasure. Camp participants converged on Rice’s campus the week of June 22 to find inspiration for their writing at Jaume Plensa’s “Mirror” sculpture and at Rice Gallery among other places.
