KTRU Outdoor Show: 10 hours of music, food and fun April 11

Techno disk jockey Objekt, dance music artist Bok Bok, rapper GoldLink and indie rock trio Ex Hex will headline the 24th annual KTRU Outdoor Show April 11.

The all-day music festival in the Central Quad will also feature local acts Fat Tony, Deep Cuts, Heaven Spacey, Stalls and Fire Alarm – winner of Rice’s Battle of the Bands. FLCON FCKER will provide visual effects.

Hosted by Rice’s student-run radio station, the show begins at noon and continues through 10 p.m. Admission is free and open to all ages.

In addition to music, the festival will feature booths staffed by student and local organizations. Refreshments can be purchased from a number of food trucks that will be on site. BYOB is not permitted, but Willy’s Pub will provide a beer garden for adults 21 and older.

“This is our biggest event of the year, and we plan on drawing in thousands from the Greater Houston community,” said KTRU press director and Lovett College freshman Ernest Pelton.
