Man suspected of robbing Rice student was arrested

A man suspected of robbing a student at Rice Memorial Center Tuesday was arrested this morning and charged with robbery.

Antonio Jackson

Antonio Jackson, 26, is in custody in the Harris County jail as a suspect in the robbery at Rice and also for a similar crime he allegedly committed March 19 at the METRORail station near NRG Stadium. The arrest was made when Jackson appeared in Harris County court this morning for a hearing involving his arrest for a theft last month near the University of Houston (UH) Downtown. Court officials noticed the two outstanding warrants for Jackson and placed him in custody.

Rice police issued a crime alert with a description of the robber and photo of him fleeing, which led to the arrest.
