At work: Oil patch woes heighten business school’s appeal
The energy industry cut 20,193 jobs last month, which has resulted in more young professionals in the energy sector starting business school this fall. Rice’s Jones Graduate School of Business reported an increase in applications from energy-sector candidates for its two-year, full-time MBA program.

“The Texas Promise,” a documentary film highlighting public education in the state, will be screened at Rice University at 6:30 p.m. Feb. 23 in the Anderson-Clarke Center’s Hudspeth Auditorium. The screening is free and open to the public and will be followed by a panel discussion.
