Rice football coach Bailiff T-shirt exchange program Friday

HOUSTON – (Sept. 17, 2014) – Rice Owls head football coach David Bailiff will hold his annual T-shirt exchange at 11:45 a.m. Sept. 19 in front of William Marsh Rice’s statute in the middle of the university’s academic quadrangle.

Each year, Bailiff sets up shop in front of Willy’s statue and exchanges with Rice students other schools’ gear for a new Rice football T-shirt.

The defending C-USA champion Owls will host Old Dominion for their home and conference opener at 11 a.m. Sept. 20 at Rice Stadium.

Who: Football head coach David Bailiff.
What: T-shirt exchange photo op and media availability.
When: 11:45 a.m. Friday, Sept. 19.
Where: William Marsh Rice’s statue, Rice University’s academic quad.

In leading Rice to last season’s Conference USA title, as well as a second consecutive bowl game, David Bailiff continues to deliver on his pledge to build a program at Rice that makes its mark on the field, in the classroom and in the community.

Entering his eighth season at Rice, Bailiff has twice led the Owls to 10 wins, matching Jess Neely’s 1949 squad for the most in school history. And the Owls’ 41-24 victory over Marshall in the C-USA championship game last year gave Rice its first outright conference championship since 1957. Bailiff has twice led the Owls to two bowl wins (2008 Texas Bowl and 2012 Armed Forces Bowl), and with one more bowl win, he would tie Neely for the most in school history.

The Owls can be followed all season long at riceowls.com, on Twitter @RiceFootball1 and on the football Facebook page.
