Rice University was one of 11 universities across the state that Texas Secretary of State Nandita Berry visited during the first week of her “Vote Texas” campaign to share information that students need to ensure they’re registered to vote by Oct. 6 so they can participate in the gubernatorial election this fall. Berry engaged in a roundtable discussion at the Rice Memorial Center with members of the Rice Vote Coalition Aug. 29 and presented a proclamation honoring the coalition “for its considerable and tireless work to engage Rice students in the voting process.” Pictured (from left) are Wiess senior Zach Watterson (Baker Institute Student Forum member ex officio), Duncan senior Anastasia Bolshakov (communications manager for Rice Young Democrats and Campanile editor-in-chief), Berry, McMurtry junior Tina Nazerian (Thresher assistant news editor) and Duncan senior Clara Roberts (president of Rice Young Democrats).
