Jones Graduate School of Business Professor of Management Utpal Dholakia was a two-time winner at the 2014 Consumer Insights Challenge at the Georgetown Institute for Consumer Research (GICR), an academic institute within the McDonough School of Business at Georgetown University. He was an author on two of the six winning research proposals in the competition. Dholakia’s co-authors on one of the proposals were first-year marketing Ph.D. students Jihye Jung and Nivriti Chowdhry. Each of the six winning teams of researchers will receive up to 500 responses to a 10-minute survey-based study from a nationally representative sample provided by the NPD Group and GICR, as well as support from the GICR team prior to data collection.

Jones Graduate School of Business students Blake Parrish and Rachel Stanbery were each awarded a $10,000 scholarship by the Texas Business Hall of Fame Foundation. The scholarship “recognizes students who demonstrate exceptional leadership skills and an entrepreneurial spirit” and “who will keep Texas on the top.” Scholarship recipients will be honored at a  luncheon ceremony in Dallas Nov. 5.
