Rice’s business and engineering graduate schools ranked No. 1 by students on graduateprograms.com

Rice has the top student-ranked graduate schools for business and engineering and the No. 1 student-ranked graduate programs for chemistry and business management for 2014 at graduateprograms.com.

The rankings are based solely on ratings and reviews posted on the website by current and recent grad students between Sept. 1, 2012, and April 14, 2014. According to graduateprograms.com, more than 60,000 students participating in more than 1,500 graduate programs across the nation have posted reviews. Using a scale of one to 10 stars, with 10 being the best score, graduate students rate their programs on 15 categories, including academic competiveness, career support, financial aid and quality of network. Students win a chance for a scholarship as an incentive to post reviews.

The Jesse H. Jones Graduate School of Business averaged 9.2 stars and the George R. Brown School of Engineering averaged 9.1 stars.

Graduate programs in chemistry and business administration averaged 9.2 and 9.1 stars, respectively.

Rice currently has three other top-10 graduate programs on the site: Computer science, with an average of 9.37 stars, is No. 3. Electrical engineering, with 8.72 stars, is No. 8. Anthropology, with 8.43 stars, is No. 10.
