Satish Nagarajaiah, a professor of civil and environmental engineering and of mechanical engineering, materials science and nanoengineering, has been named editor-in-chief for the Americas of Structural Monitoring and Maintenance, a new international journal. Nagarajaiah is also editor of Structural Control and Health Monitoring and managing editor of the Journal of Structural Engineering, published by the American Society of Civil Engineers.

The Shepherd School of Music has joined Seven Springs, an exclusive group comprising the heads of the country’s top music schools. The group, which gathers annually, was established in 1972 for school leaders to share information and discuss opportunities and challenges at their respective institutions. The group includes the Juilliard School, Curtis Institute of Music, New England Conservatory, Oberlin College and Conservatory, Eastman School of Music and the schools of music at Northwestern University, Indiana University, the University of Michigan and the University of Southern California.
