Owls fly south

Rice University students and UBELONG campus leaders Trent Navran and Eric Bradford led 14 Rice undergrads in the design and delivery of a public health campaign in Cusco, Peru, that reached 700 youth from economically disadvantaged backgrounds. Working in public schools, the team delivered nearly 250 workshops over three weeks. They focused on nutrition, hygiene, sex education and environmental education. Based in Washington, D.C., UBELONG is a social venture that mobilizes individuals for volunteering and educational placements to advance international development efforts and promote cross-cultural understanding.
