Rice baseball advances to C-USA Championship final

The Rice Owls baseball team amassed their 40th win of the season Saturday at Reckling Park by beating the Memphis Tigers 10-1. The victory gave Rice its 19th straight season with 40 or more wins. John Simms went 8.1 innings to get the win and send the Owls to the C-USA Championship game Sunday at 1 p.m. The Owls have won all of their tournament games (3-0) and are on a seven-game winning streak. The Owls will face Southern Miss, who shared the C-USA regular season title with Rice. Tickets for the championship game are still available by going to www.riceowls.com.
