Clothesline for awareness

Last week Rice Memorial Center had a new feature — a clothesline supplied by the women’s center The Bridge Over Troubled Waters. The clothesline displayed various items of clothing with stories and feelings written and painted on them by women who experienced domestic and sexual violence.

The annual exhibition is sponsored by Rice’s Women’s Resource Center (WRC) and aims to increase awareness of the impact of violence against women, to celebrate women’s strength to survive and to provide another avenue to break the silence about violence.
