Children at Risk, a Texas-based child advocacy organization, has named Associate Professor of Sociology Rachel Kimbro “Hero of the Month” for April. Kimbro was recognized for her support of the organization’s efforts to advocate for and support children.

STEMscopes, the Rice Center for Digital Learning and Scholarship’s K-12 online science education program, will participate in the Sloan Consortium’s annual International Symposium for Emerging Technologies for Online Learning April 9-11 in Las Vegas. The program is one of six selected nationally to participate as part of The Launch Pad, representing innovative online education startups.
