‘DJ Leebron’

KTRU

President David Leebron’s walkabout took him to the Ley Student Center, where he sat in as a guest DJ April 3 at KTRU, Rice’s student-run radio station. Sitting next to KTRU Concerts Director Sal Tijerna, right, Leebron recalled his own undergraduate days as he played about an hour of music from such artists as Harry Nilsson, Cat Stevens and Meat Loaf. Leebron also might have helped boost KTRU’s showing in the Soundtrap Madness competition, a bracket-style tournament in which college radio stations are ranked by amassed listening time during the contest. Listeners can still help KTRU advance in the tournament, which ends April 12. Access the station via http://soundtap.com/madness and log in via your Facebook account. Photo by Jeff Fitlow.
