Pitch perfect

Coach Wayne Graham helped unveil a plaque at Recking Park honoring former Rice Owl Philip Humber for the perfect game he pitched as a major leaguer last year. Humber was a member of the Chicago White Sox when he pitched a perfect game against the Seattle Mariners April 21. Umber retired all 27 batters he faced as the White Sox defeated the Mariners 4–0. It was the 21st perfect game in Major League Baseball history. Humber was a pitcher of the Owls team that won the 2003 College World Series. (Photo by Tommy LaVergne)
