Rice MBA ranks No. 17 nationally in new ranking

Rice University’s Master of Business Administration (MBA) program at the Jones Graduate School of Business is ranked No. 17 in the U.S. for full-time MBA programs and No. 37 globally, according to new rankings from the Financial Times.

Jones School rankingsNotable elements of the annual ranking list the school in first place nationally for salary percentage increase among graduates and No. 13 nationally for placement success. In addition, the MBA program at the Jones Graduate School of Business is ranked No. 1 in Texas and the Southwest. Last year the program ranked No. 20 nationally. The survey is sent to business school graduates three years after graduation.

“Today’s ranking from the Financial Times illustrates steady increases in the value of a Rice MBA,” said Bill Glick, dean of the Jones School. “Rather than focusing on the overall ranking, however, we emphasize the elements that matter the most to our stakeholders. The Financial Times elements of greatest importance are intellectual contributions, aims achieved and the increasing the value to our alumni. Thus, I’m very pleased with the first-place national ranking for salary percentage increases for our alumni and the top 20 national rankings for the other two elements of greatest importance. In addition to delivering a solid foundation of business education, we strive to provide an increasing return to and ongoing career advancement for our graduates.”

In addition, two academic areas within the Jones School were recognized among the Financial Times’ top 10 programs in selected categories as rated by alumni. The school ranked No. 4 for accounting (up from No. 9 in 2012) and No. 5 for finance (up from No. 10 in 2012).
