Rice trustee Larry Kellner to speak at first event of College Lecture Series

Rice University Board of Trustees member and former Continental Airlines CEO Larry Kellner will speak at the first event for the new College Lecture Series Jan. 29 at 7:30 p.m. in the Jones College Commons.

The College Lecture Series was created by Rice’s residential college presidents to enhance the personal and professional development of Rice students by inviting members of the Rice and Houston communities to speak on different topics.

“We’re very excited about this new lecture series, and we’re thrilled to have Mr. Kellner as the speaker for our first event,” said Julian Castro, president of Jones College. “We believe the series will have an important impact on the personal and professional growth of our students.”

Castro noted that he and the other college presidents have tentatively planned to schedule two lectures per semester.
