Owls will learn bowl destination Saturday

The Owls football team is bowl-eligible, having won four games in a row and five of its last six games. Head coach David Bailiff and student-athletes talk about their season and going to a bowl in the video below.

The outcome of Saturday’s Conference USA Football Championship game between Tulsa and the University of Central Florida (UCF) will be the deciding factor in where the Rice Owls will go bowling in December. The Owls clinched their third bowl berth in the past seven years with a 33-24 win over the University of Texas at El Paso Nov. 24.

Conference USA announced its contingency plan regarding its lineup of 2012 bowl games, pending the result of Saturday’s C-USA Football Championship game. If Tulsa wins the championship game, Rice will play in the Bell Helicopter Armed Forces Bowl Dec. 29 in Fort Worth. If UCF wins, Rice will play in the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl Dec. 22.
