Rice University ranked among top 10 colleges for ‘Aspiring Entrepreneurs’ on Unigo.com

Rice University is No. 7 among the “Top 10 Colleges for Aspiring Entrepreneurs,” a ranking posted this week by the Huffington Post and Unigo.com. The list was based on the votes of more than 30,000 current college students.

Unigo.com, a website geared toward high school students and parents looking for information about colleges, compiled the list.

The ranking spotlighted the Rice Alliance for Technology and Entrepreneurship and noted that since 1999, the alliance has helped launch more than 200 technology companies that have raised collectively more than $350 million in funding. The ranking also mentioned that the 2012 Rice Business Plan Competition awarded $1.55 million in prizes to competitors from around the world who pitched their new technology business plans to judges who have already proven their abilities as venture capital investors.

The University of Oklahoma was No. 1 on the list of top schools for aspiring entrepreneurs.
