Aug. 30 season opener to be broadcast on CBS Sports Network

The Owls’ football season opener Aug. 30 against UCLA will be broadcast to a national television audience on the CBS Sports Network. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m.

The 2012 schedule also features Rice Stadium appearances by Conference USA foes Marshall (Sept. 22), Southern Miss (Oct. 27) and SMU (Nov. 17), in addition to the culmination of the Rice Centennial Celebration, when the Owls host University of Texas, San Antonio, Oct. 13. The Bayou Bucket battle against the University of Houston is set for Sept. 29.

Tickets to each of the Rice Owls six home games are on sale through the Rice Athletic Department Ticket Office or online at RiceOwls.com. The Owls 2012 home schedule includes five games at Rice Stadium in addition to the annual Bayou Bucket clash with Houston that will be played at Reliant Stadium.

Single game tickets for the first games at Rice Stadium are priced at $20 for lower reserved seats, while general admission tickets are $15 for adults and $8 for youth. Special group rates are also available. Tickets for the Bayou Bucket range from $15 to $65.
