The flavor of Texas: Rice students enjoy O-Week barbecue

No cuisine captures the flavor of Texas better than barbecue. Rice’s new freshmen enjoyed some of the local grub along with the company of their new classmates during the President’s Barbecue at the home of Rice University President David Leebron and his wife, University Representative Y. Ping Sun. Along with the food and conversation, a disc jockey spun tunes, prompting a number of spontaneous student dance-offs. Leebron and Sun host the Texas-style welcome annually to get to know the new Rice students.
