Rice sociologist to release results from 31st annual Kinder Houston Area Survey

Rice University sociologist Stephen Klineberg will release findings next week from the 2012 Kinder Houston Area Survey, the 31st annual study that covers such topics as Houston’s current economic outlook, quality-of-life considerations and demographic transformations.

STEPHEN KLINEBERG

Klineberg will discuss highlights from the survey during a luncheon hosted by the Greater Houston Partnership and Rice’s Kinder Institute for Urban Research at noon April 24 at the Westin Galleria Ballroom, 5060 West Alabama St.

Later in the week, Discovery Green, the Kinder Institute, Houston Public Media and Univision 45 will host an evening of community celebration with Klineberg featuring the public premiere of “Interesting Times” – a new film highlighting the dynamic transformations of the city of Houston over the past 30 years – and a program that will include testimonials from Houstonians as well as music and dance performances. The event will take place at Discovery Green, located at 1500 McKinney in Houston on April 27 at 6 p.m. and is free and open to the public.
