Jeff Fitlow, assistant university photographer, has a photograph included in the “Flashes of Hope — Houston Portraits of Hope” exhibit at Main Street Theater, 2540 Time Blvd. The exhibit will run March 28-April 29; an opening reception will be March 28 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. Flashes of Hope is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to creating uplifting portraits of children fighting cancer and other threatening illnesses. The exhibition highlights the portraits of patients from MD Anderson Cancer and Texas Children’s Hospital.

David Medina, director of multicultural community relations in the Office of Public Affairs, has been named a Distinguished University Associate for Wiess College for the 2011-12 academic year. He was recognized for his outstanding contributions to the college system.
