Students advocate at Texas State Capitol

Above: Rice students went to the Texas State Capitol in Austin recently to
advocate for Texas Tuition Equalization Grant (TEG) funding. The grants
provide aid to financially needy students so they can attend private,
nonprofit colleges or universities in Texas. Pictured from left are
Brown College sophomore Soorya Avali, Will Rice College sophomore Arik
Patino, alumnus Rep. Scott Hochberg ’75, Lovett College sophomore
Christian Neal and Lovett College junior Bridgette Bennett.

Below: Rice students join with contemporaries from University of St. Thomas to advocate for TEG funding with Sen. Rodney Ellis.
