The James A. Baker III Institute for Public Policy will hold a memorial service for Stone and Holt Weeks Oct. 5 at 4 p.m. in the Rice Memorial Chapel. A reception with the family will follow in Baker Hall.

The brothers were killed in a traffic accident in Virginia in July.

For the past two years, Stone Taylor Weeks was an assistant and researcher for Douglas Brinkley, professor of history and fellow at the Baker Institute. Stone graduated from the University of Delaware in 2007.

William Holt Weeks worked as a summer research intern at the Baker Institute and had been accepted at Rice as a transfer student this fall.

Stone and Holt are survived by their parents, national correspondent for NPR Digital News Linton Weeks and Washington-area artist Jan Taylor Weeks of Rockville, Md.

In memory of the brothers, the Stone and Holt Weeks Foundation has been established to provide support to organizations that carry on the spirit of the young men and take action to help the less fortunate, increase environmental awareness and build better communities.
