Trees For Houston board members and staff took a tour of Rice’s campuswide Lynn Lowery Arboretum Oct. 15, guided by Rice hosts Greg Marshall, director of university relations, and Ron Smith, grounds superintendent for Facilities, Engineering and Planning. The group admired the quick recovery the Rice campus has made in the aftermath of Hurricane Ike, and they heard about Rice’s commitment to assuring a net gain of trees at the conclusion of the university’s current construction program. Above, Smith, right, tells the group about the recently completed “John and Anne” Grove, which will be dedicated Oct. 24.
