How does your garden grow?

The community garden at Wiess College will grow well, thanks to the
efforts of students who participated in breaking ground at the new
location Oct. 7. Flowerbeds were filled with soil while organic
lemonade made from Rice’s lemon tree, organic snow cones and other
snacks were served. The campus radio station, KTRU, provided music.

This semester the garden will be used by students in ”Environmental
Sustainability: The Design and Practice of Community Agriculture,” a
course co-taught by biology professor Jennifer Rudgers and Cohen House
director Ann Swain, to learn the fundamentals of community gardening.
